CHAPTER 1 – {Wheels Within Wheels, Like a Gyroscope}
- [Context]
- Ezekiel started seeing visions of God when he turned 30 years old.
- He was living with Jewish exiles on the Kebar River. The Jewish exiles taken to Babylon. They settled on the area of the river Kebar. Chapter 1
- [His Vision]
- In this vision, he saw dust, cloud with lightening, dust, a huge ball of fire glowing like bronze all coming from the north.
- Within the fire, there where 4 creatures, all vibrant with life.
- The creatures looked like tongues of fire and lightning.
- Each creature had a gyroscope looking wheel beside them, sparkling like the sun and diamonds.
- [The Creatures]
- Each of the creatures had human form but they each had 4 faces and 4 wings.
- [Their Legs]
- Their legs were study and straight like “columns”. They’re feet, hoofed like those of calves and sparkled from the fire like burnished bronze.
- [Their Hands]
- They had human hands under their wings.
- [Their Faces]
- All 4 of their faces and wings were touching one another. They didnt have to turn to any direction, they were a formation of 360 degrees.
- Their faces looked thins – The front (human), The Right (Lion), The Left (Ox), The Back (Eagle).
- [Their Wings]
- Their wings were spread out so that each tip will touch the other creature’s wings…giving that round about/circle formation (I Imagine).
- One set of the wings were up wards, like raising your hands and the other set of wings they used to cover their bodies.
- [The Wheels]
- They went in any direction the creatures moved. They had eyes in them, they never went astray. It was as though the spirit of the creatures where in them.
- [The Dome]
- Above the heads of the creatures was a dome like covering. The dome is shinny, like broken glasses.
- [The Sound]
- When they moved their wings sounded like a roar of a great waterfall. Like the noise of a battle. Like the sound of a Strong and Mighty God.
- [The Voice]
- There was a voice from above the dome over their heads.
- [His Glory!]
- Above the dome there was something that looked like a throne.
- Sky-blue like a sapphire, with a humanlike figure towering above the throne.
- From the waist up he looked like burnished bronze and from the waist down like a blazing fire.
- Brightness everywhere! The way a rainbow springs out of the sky on a rainy day—that’s what it was like.
- It turned out to be the Glory of God!
